HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-032-01.16.1990 RESOLUTION NO. 1990-32 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN ACQUISITION CONTRACTS TO SELL REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY AND ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN DEEDS. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has had all the parcels described herein appraised and the fair market value ascertained, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described parcels is necessary to carry out the Sixth Street Extension, Contract No. IX-6604(2) --79-07. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the contract for the parcels hereinafter described to sell the same to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, all of which are situated in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, are accepted and approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same in behalf of the City and to execute all instruments necessary to consummate the agreement to purchase the properties from the owners thereof, and the deeds for the conveyance of the same are also accepted and approved and the City of Waterloo is directed to pay for the properties and the incidental expenses necessary to the consummation of the sales from City funds. The subject parcels are: Parcel No. 620. John D. Eveland, 618-20 Wellington Street Total Acquisition - $42,000. 00 Lot No. Eleven ( 11) in Block No. One (1) in Leavitt' s Addition in Waterloo Black Hawk County, Iowa. Containing Approximately 8,268 S.F. Parcel No. 626 Merton L. McDougall, 626 Wellington Street Total Acquisition - $28,000. 00 A part of Lot No. Ten ( 10) , in Block No. One ( 1) , in Leavitt' s Addition to Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest Corner of said Lot No. Ten ( 10 ) ; thence running southeasterly along the southwesterly line of said lot (said line being also the northeasterly line of Wellington Court) a distance of forty ( 40) feet; thence northeasterly along a line drawn parallel with the northwesterly line of West Fifth ( 5th) Street a distance of one hundred forty-two and seventy-five hundredths ( 142.75) feet to the Northeasterly line of lot No. Ten ( 10) ; thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line of said lot (said line being also the southwesterly line of Wellington Street) a distance of forty ( 40) feet to the most northerly corner of Lot No. Ten (10) ; thence southwesterly along the northwesterly line of said lot a distance of one hundred forty-two and seventy-five hundredths ( 142.75) feet to the place of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Containing approximately 5 ,710 S.F. Parcel No. 829 Charles W. Schwartz, 829 West 4th Street Total Acquisition - $16,000 . 00 The southwesterly forty-eight ( 48) feet of the northwesterly one hundred twelve (112) feet of Lot No. Four ( 4) , in Block Resolution No. 1990-32 Page 2 No. Five (5) , in Millers Addition to Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
