RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY
LOCATED EAST OF GREENHILL ROAD AND WEST OF LETSCH ROAD
TO WATERLOO COMPANY OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, INC. FOR
$32,011. 00, PLUS COSTS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A DEED FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of real
property in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as described below, and
WHEREAS, an offer to purchase said certain parcel of real
property in the sum of $32,011. 00, plus costs, has been made by
Waterloo Company of Jehovah's Witnesses, Inc. , and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on January 8, 1990, at
7: 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa,
as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
on the proposal to sell and convey premises owned by the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to Waterloo Company of Jehovah's Witnesses, Inc. ,
Waterloo, Iowa, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and
conveyance should be made as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, as follows:
1. The following described real property, as fully
described in the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on
December 22, 1989, is not presently needed and will not be needed
in the foreseeable future for municipal purposes and its
ownership is serving no municipal purpose.
2. That the offer of Waterloo Company of Jehovah' s
Witnesses, Inc. to purchase real property for the sum of
$32,011. 00 and costs be, and it is hereby accepted for property
described below:
A part of Lot No. Thirty-two ( 32) in Auditor's Whitney Road
Plat in Sections Sixteen ( 16) and Twenty-one (21) , Township
Eighty-nine ( 89) , Range Thirteen ( 13) West of the 5th
Principal Meridian, Black Hawk County, Iowa, (Now in City of
Waterloo,Iowa ) described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the North line of said Lot No.
Thirty-two ( 32 ) that is Five Hundred Seventy-eight ( 578)
feet West of the centerline of Letsch Road; Thence Easterly
along the North line of said Lot No. Thirty-two ( 32) to the
Northwest corner of Lot No. One ( 1 ) in Homestead Addition,
Waterloo, Iowa; Thence Southwesterly along the West line of
said Lot No. One ( 1) Two Hundred Seventy and Twenty-nine
Hundredths (270. 29) feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot
No. One (1) ; Thence North 88 degrees, 55 minutes, 40 seconds
West Seventy and Five-Tenths (70. 5) feet; Thence South 00
degrees, 32 minutes, 00 seconds West Fifty-four (54. 0) feet;
Thence Westerly along a line parallel with said North line
of said Lot No. Thirty-two ( 32) Two Hundred Sixty-five
( 265. 0) feet; Thence Northeasterly along a line parallel
with the West Line of Homestead Addition Twelve and
Five-tenths (12. 5) ; Thence East Twenty-five ( 25) feet;
Thence Northeasterly to the point of beginning, subject to
the City's retention of a permanent easement legally
described as follows:
A part of Lot No. 32 in Auditor Whitney Road Plat in Section
21 Township 89 Range 13 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian
in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the north line of said Lot No. 32
that is 15 feet westerly of the northwest corner of Lot 1
Homestead Addition, thence easterly along said north line 15
feet to the northwest corner of Lot 1 Homestead Add. , thence
southerly 270 . 29 feet along the west line of said Lot 1 ,
thence westerly 50 feet along the northernmost line of Tract
A, Homestead Addition, thence northeasterly in a straight
line to the point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo,
Black Hawk County, Iowa.
3 . That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said parcel of
real property to Waterloo Company of Jehovah' s Witnesses, Inc. by
Quit Claim Deed.
4 . That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute and deliver a deed to Waterloo Company of Jehovah' s
Witnesses, Inc.
5 . That the original of said deed fully executed and
acknowledged is hereby approved and confirmed by the Council.
6 . That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to
deliver said deed of conveyance to Waterloo Company of Jehovah' s
Witnesses, Inc. upon receipt of the sum of $32 , 011 . 00, and costs.
