A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 14, 1981, THE ASSUMPTION OF OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE FLOOD PROTECTION DEVICES CONSTRUCTED AS STAGE V-D
OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS LOCAL FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers contractor has completed the
construction of all the facilities required for Stage V-D of the Local
Flood Control Project; and
WHEREAS, said facilities have been inspected and approved by
representatives of the City of Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the contract between the Corps of Engineers and the City
of Waterloo requires formal transfer of the assumption of operation and
maintenance responsibilities of said facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has pLoposed the date of October 14,
1981 as the date for the transfer of said responsibilities for Stage V-D.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA that;
1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the City
of Waterloo effective October 14, 1981, the assumption of operation and
maintenance responsibilities for the flood protection devices constructed
by the Corps of Engineers as Stage V-D of the Local Flood Control Project.
2. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Corps of
Engineers.
