RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF DENMAN PHILLIPS
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR F . Y. 1981 SIDEWALK REPAIR
PROGRAM NO. 2 , CONTRACT NO. 224 IN THE CITY OF
WATERLOO , IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF $9, 532. 85.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA :
that the bid of Denman Phillips Construction Company of Waterloo ,
Iowa for the F . Y. 1981 Sidewalk Repair Program No. 2, Contract No .
224 , in the City of Waterloo, Iowa , filed with the City Clerk in
accordance with the terms of the published notice calling for
proposals for the construction of the said improvement , be , and
the same is hereby, accepted, the bid of Denman Phillips
Construction Company of $9, 532. 85 , being the lowest legal bid
received on said proposal , and that the contract be awarded to
Denman Phillips Construction Company of Waterloo , Iowa , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk be, and
they are hereby , authorized , instructed and ordered to enter into
a contract on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa , for the
construction of the said improvement with the said Denman Phillips
Construction Company , but said contract shall not be binding upon
said City until the same has been duly approved by the Council .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other bids for said
improvements be and they are hereby , rejected, and the City Clerk
is hereby authorized and directed to return unto the persons
filing the same the certified checks accompanying such rejected
bids .
Passed and adopted this 8th day of June , 1981 .
