RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF MAY
25- 29 , 1981 AS SAFETY WEEK, IN THE CITY OF
WATERLOO , IOWA.
WHEREAS , the safety of all workers is of mutual interest to
all citizens of the City of Waterloo , and
WHEREAS , all types of industries in the City of Waterloo
contribute greatly to the state and national economies , and
WHEREAS , each year numerous accidents inflict thousands of
injuries which result in the loss of hundreds of lives and the
expenditure of millions of dollars to rehabilitate the injured
and replace damaged property of which the cost in human suffering
is incalculable and the loss of a loved one is an inexcusable
tragedy ; and
WHEREAS , this needless waste of precious human and economic
resources must be reduced or eliminated through the use of well
engineered facilities , sound enforcement and educational policies
and procedures .
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO , IOWA that the week of May 25-29 , 1981 be proclaimed as
Safety Week .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all employers and employees
Utilize every needed safety precaution and practice at home, work

and in recreation .
