RESOLUTION DENYING THE REQUEST OF THE WATERLOO POLICE
PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION TO INVALIDATE FIVE PROMOTIONS
WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT°
WHEREAS, on June 16,1978 the Waterloo City Council approved
a promotion list for certain officers of the Waterloo Police Force,
and
WHEREAS, this list was challenged by members of tI Waterloo
Police Department and
WHEREAS, these certain members then filed a declaratory Action
in the District Court of Iowa,and
WHEREAS , said court declared said promotions were not under
tn.e jurisdiction of the Court by reason of not being individually
named in the action,and,
Whereas,the Waterloo Police Protective Association asked that
the City Council review the promotions of Larry Dolan,Mike Beener,
Harry Helgesen and Randall Schoenfelder,and Robert Shafer,now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,IOWA:
that the request of the Waterloo Police Protective Association
to review the promotion list approved by the City Council on June
16,1978 be denied.
