RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE UNDER
TITLE I OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974.
WHEREAS, public hearings were held on November 15, 1979 and
January 10, 1980 at which an opportunity was accorded to all persons and
organizations attending to present their views regarding the past performance
and the preparation and submission of an application for Federal Assistance
as part of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds the proposed application for
Federal Assistance for a Community Development Block Grant for the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, conforms to the general plan of the municipality as a whole
and that there is presently in existence a feasible method for the relocation
of families that may be displaced into decent, safe, and sanitary dwelling
accommodations within their means and without undue hardship to them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the application for Federal Assistance under Title I of
the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, is hereby approved and
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the application and forward the
application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for their
review and approval.
