RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NORTHEAST IOWA AREA CRIME
COMMISSION TO ACT IN THE CITY' S BEHALF IN CRIMINAL
JUSTICE PLANNING, SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL
AND STATE FUNDS , ADMINISTERING TRAINING PROGRAMS AND
GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR 1980 , 1981, 1982 AND ANY FUTURE YEARS .
WHEREAS , the Congress of the United States has made monies avail-
able under the provisions of the Justice System Improvement Act of
1979 to local units of government ;
WHEREAS , the City of Waterloo is desirous of becoming a part of
a combination of units of general local government which is known as
the Northeast Iowa Area Crime Commission; and declares itself an
eligible unit of general local government under the Northeast Iowa
Area Crime Commission pursuant to the Entitlement provisions of
Section 402 of the Justice System Improvement Act of 1979 .
NOW THEREFORE , be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo that the City of Waterloo authorizes the Northeast Iowa Area
Crime Commission to act in its behalf in criminal justice planning,
submitting applications for federal and state fund, administering
training programs and admhistering grant funded programs for the years ,
1980 , 1981 , 1982 and any future years .
The City of Waterloo will be represented on the Northeast Iowa
Area Crime Commission by a duly-appointed Commissioner as provided
in NEIACC by-laws .
It is hereby further resolved that the City of Waterloo as a
recipient , obligates itself to the terms and guidelines of awards
made to the Northeast Iowa Area Crime Commission by the Law Enforcement
Assistance Administration of the Office of Justice Assistance , Research,
and Statistics .
