RESOLUTION LIFTING THE MORATORIUM ON SINGLE FAMILY
CONSTRUCTION FOR AN AREA WITHIN THE SANITARY SEWER
DISTRICT SERVED BY THE CATTLE CONGRESS LIFT STATION
WITH CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS,a moratorium on single family construction has been
invoked for the area within the sanitary sewer district served by
the Cattle Congress Lift Station, and,
WHEREAS, Brice,Petrides , and Associates Inc . has been in-
structed to study the drainage and sanitary sewer needs in the
above described area, and,
WHEREAS, Brice,Petrides ,and Associates Inc . has made a
study and report, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
that the building moratorium on single family construction in an
area within the sanitary sewer district served by the Cattle
Congress Lift Station with the following restrictions:
1. Building codes and good construction pratices in the construc-
tion of basements which include drain tile, proper water proof-
ing,and proper back-fill compaction.
2 . Each residence must be equipped with an automatic sump pump
discharging in the storm sewers(if no storm sewer is available,
then discharging on the lawn) .
3. No occupancy permit will be given until the North Hackett Road
Lift Station Holding Basin is constructed.
Passed and adopted this 25th day of February, 1980 .
