A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF
REAL PROPERTY FOR FLOOD CONTROL.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has undertaken a Flood Control
Project, and the parcel of land hereinafter described has been appraised
and an offer made to the owners of said property in the amount of the
appraised value which has been concurred in by the Federal Department of
Housing and Urban Development and said offer has been refused and funds
are available with which to pay for the said parcel from Flood Control
funds, and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described real property
is necessary in connection with the said Flood Control Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, that the following described parcel of real property be
acquired by condemnation in the manner provided by law, and such other
further action as may be necessary to effect acquisition.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Lots Nos. Thirty-six (36) and Thirty-seven (37) in Fractional Block
No. Eight (8) in the Original Plat, on the West Side of the Cedar
River, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, except that
part thereof conveyed to the Chicago Great Western Railway Company
by Warranty Deed recorded in Town Lot Deed Record 44, page 622 of the
Records of said County, and except any railroad right of way.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council on this 3rd day of
Marrh , 1980, and approved by the Mayor this 3rd day of
March , 1980.
