A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE UNDER TITLE I OF THE
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 AS AMENDED FOR THE DOWNTOWN
SYCAMORE 500 PROJECT
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 21, 1980 at which
time an opportunity was accorded to all persons and organizations attending
to present their views regarding the proposed application for Federal
assistance in the Downtown Sycamore 500 Project as part of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds the application for Federal
Assistance for an Urban Development Action Grant for the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, conforms to the general plan of the municipality as a whole and that
there is presently in existence a feasible method for the relocation of
families that may be displaced into decent, safe, and sanitary dwelling
accommodations within their means and without undue hardship to them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the preparation of the application for the Downtown
Sycamore 500 Project for Federal Assistance under Title I of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, is hereby approved and that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the application and forward the application
to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for their review and
approval.
