WHEREAS, the need exists for the repair of various railways which cross s 2 El

public streets within the City of Waterloo, and T

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has thus informed each party of this need in a,, ifi:
letter dated February 15, 1980, and No
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Code of Ordinance Section 32-3 allows the City Council,
to order the repair of deteriorated grade crossings, and , `^z

WHEREAS, a provision exists within the Waterloo Code of Ordinance Section'-' ,;
32-3 whereby providing that if said companies neglect or refuse to repair said
streets within 10 days of notification, the City may proceed with the repairs
and assess said costs upon the real estate and personal property of the railway
as provided by state law, now, therefore,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That the following railroads crossings be repaired by the City of Waterloo
Street Department and all costs assessed to each respective company:
ROCK ISLAND
1 ) West 1st and Bluff Streets (main line)
Repair existing approach and rail-crossing pavement
2) West 1st and Bluff Streets (spur line)
Repair existing approach and rail-crossing pavement
3) West 2nd and Bluff Streets
Remove abandoned spur tracks and resurface street
CHICAGO AND NORTH WESTERN TRANSPORTATION COMPANY
1 ) West 1st and Bluff Streets
Remove abandoned spur tracks and resurface street
2) West 3rd and Bluff Street
Repair existing approach and rail-crossing pavement
3) West 6th and Commercial Streets
Repair existing approach and rail-crossing pavement
ILLINOIS CENTRAL GULF Repair existing approach and rail-crossing pavement
1 ) Park Road and Harrison Street
2) East Mullah Avenue at Cedar River Bridge
3) East 1st Street at Cedar River Bridge
