RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE
OF LOT 10, BLOCK 17 , HAYES ' ADDITION, IF SOLD, TO
BE USED FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE
CEDAR RIVER RIVERFRONT.
WHEREAS , the Riverfront Commission ceases operation on
June 30, 1980 , and
WHEREAS , the Riverfront Commission owns excess real property
with the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and
WHEREAS , the City of Waterloo, is committed to preserving
the safety of recreation on the Cedar River, and
WHEREAS , the Waterloo Park Board assumes responsibility of
the Riverfront Commission ' s former duties of maintenance and
operation of the Cedar River Riverfront on July 1 , 1980 , and
WHEREAS , the Fiscal Year 1981 Budget of the Waterloo Park
Board has no monies allocated for the operation of the Cedar
River Riverfront , now, therefore ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
that if Lot 10 , Block 17 , Hayes ' Addition is sold at the public
hearing scheduled for July 7 , 1980 , the proceeds be used by the
Park Department for the maintenance and operation of the Cedar
River Riverfront .
Passed and adopted this 23rd day of June , 1980 .
