A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO
EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 19, 1980, THE ASSUMPTION OF OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE RESPONSI-
BILITIES FOR THE FLOOD PROTECTION DEVICES CONSTRUCTED AS STAGE VC AND VE OF
THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS LOCAL FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT,
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers contractor has completed the
construction of all the facilities required for Stage VC and Stage VE of
the Local Flood Control Project; and
WHEREAS, said facilities have been inspected and approved by
representatives of the City of Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the contract between the Corps of Engineers and the City
of Waterloo requires formal transfer of the assumption of operation and
maintenance responsibilities of said facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has proposed the date of November 19,
1980 as the date for the transfer of said responsibilities for Stage VC and
Stage VE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA that;
1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the City
of Waterloo effective November 19, 1980, the assumption of operation and main-
tenance responsibilities for the flood protection devices constructed by the
Corps of Engineers as Stage VC and Stage VE of the Local Flood Control Project.
2. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Corps of
Engineers.
