RESOLUTION NO. 2023-209
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO MODERN
BUILDERS, INC., OF JANESVILLE, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $33,948.00, APPROVE THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
AIRCRAFT STORAGE HANGAR NO. 1 AND 2 ROOF REPAIR
PROJECT FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION,
AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, PROJECT NO. 3-19-
0094-0048, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Modern Builders, Inc., of Janesville, Iowa submitted a bid in the amount of
$33,948.00, in conjunction with the Aircraft Storage Hangar No. 1 and 2 Roof Repair Project
Federal Aviation Administration, Airport Improvement Program, Project No. 3-19-0094-0048,
and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Modern Builders, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, in conjunction with the Aircraft Storage Hangar No. 1 and 2 Roof Repair Project
Federal Aviation Administration, Airport Improvement Program, Project No. 3-19-0094-0048.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Modern Builders, Inc., in the amount of $33,948.00, in conjunction with
the Aircraft Storage Hangar No. 1 and 2 Roof Repair Project Federal Aviation
Administration, Airport Improvement Program, Project No. 3-19-0094-0048, is hereby
awarded to Modern Builders, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Modern Builders, Inc.,
in conjunction with the Aircraft Storage Hangar No. 1 and 2 Roof Repair Project Federal
Aviation Administration, Airport Improvement Program, Project No. 3-19-0094-0048, are
hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of April 2023.
