On Proposed Plans, Specifications,
Form of Contract,
and Estimate of Cost
for the
FY 2023 GATES PARK
IMPROVEMENTS
in the City of Waterloo, Iowa
CONTRACT NO. 1076
RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City Clerk of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, at
her office in the City Hall of the said City
on the 27th day of April 2023. until 1:00
p.m. for the FY 2023 GATES PARK
IMPROVEMENTS, City Contract No.
1076, as described in detail in the plans
and specifications now on file in the Office
of the City Clerk.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received will be opened in
the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers at
City Hall. in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on
the 27h day of April, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.,
and the proposals will be acted upon at
such later time and place as may then be
fixed by the City Council. The bid opening
will be livestreamed on YouTube and
made available on the City website.

Notice is hereby given that the Council of
sad City will conduct a public hearing on
the proposed plans, specifications, form
of contract, and estimate of Cost for the
construction of the above -described im-
provement project at 5:30 p.m. on the 1st
day of May 2023. said hearing to be held
in the Herod E. Getty Council Chambers
in City Hall in said City. The proposed
plans, specifications, form of contract,
and estimate of cost for said improve-
ments heretofore prepared by AECOM for
the City of Waterloo are now on file in the
office of the City Clerk for public
examination, and any person interested
therein may file written objection thereto
with the City Clerk before the date set for
said hearing, or appear and make
objection thereto with the City Clerk
before the date set for said hearing, or
appear and make objection thereto at the
meeting above set forth.
SCOPE OF WORK
This project consists of the reconstruction
of the existing Gates Park with new
restroom buildings, amphitheater shelter
structure, inclusive playground, splash
pad, lighted basketball courts, and other
park facilities. The project includes
extensive earthwork and installation of
sidewalks, shared use paths, parking lots,
site lighting, landscape enhancements,
signage features, picnic shelters, and
reconstruction of the existing storm
sewer, electrical supply, sanitary sewer,
and water main services.
Published pursuant to the provisions of
Chapter 26 of the City Code of Iowa and
upon order to the City Council of said
Waterloo, Iowa, on the 3rd day of April,
2023.
