Moved.by Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the Agenda,
Motion carried.
Jones, Schmitt, Lind, Morrissey, and
as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Dan Trelka, Director of Safety Services, explained an amendment to the City Code of the• City of
Waterloo, Iowa by repealing Section 3-3-4, Billiard Halls and Bowling Alleys in its entirety, and enacting
in lieu"thereof'a new Section 3-3-4 Special Events and an amendment to the City Code of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa by amending Section 3-1-1 Licenses Required, to include Special Events. A $25
application fee will be charged for events turned in at least 60 days in advance. Other fees apply
on a per case basis. Events that require staff for less than an hour will not be charged.
Mr. Hart questioned if there is a distinction made for events that generate revenue*and there is
not.
Mr. Schmitt asked if staff can provide a financial projection of the changes.
It was the consensus of the committee to place this ordinance change on'the council agenda in
two weeks.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved -by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey
that the meeting be adjourned at 5:07 p.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
