The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Regular Session at City Hall Council
Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa, at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, October 8, 2001. Mayor John R. Rooff
in the Chair. Roll Call: Anders, Jordan, Krizek, Murphy, Gronen, Getty, Berry.
Invocation by: Reverend Keith Pillar, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, ELCA.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
115991 - Mayor Rooff reported he has been invited to participate in a prayer service on
Friday at 12:30 p.m. Following the prayer service, discussions will be held
with ministers and Rabbi Sol Serber. Mayor Rooff invited the council and
department heads to attend the service and discussions.
Councilperson Harold Getty stated that at the beginning of September he was
feeling good health wise, and then on September 5, he had open heart surgery.
Councilperson Getty thanked everyone who took time to visit, send cards and
flowers, phone calls, and especially the prayers. Councilperson Getty stated
he never realized what a dangerous operation open heart surgery could be.
Councilperson Getty stated he is feeling fine and getting stronger every day.

2002, together with recommendation of approval of Acting Fire Chief, Leisure
Services Director and Superintendent of Waste Management Services, be received,

setting date of hearing as October 22, 2001, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall

agreement", be adopted and Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute same.

West 5th Street)", be considered and passed for the third time and adopted.
