RESOLUTION ORDERING THE DEMOLITION AND SITE
CLEARANCE PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 171 -D -EDI -08-
02-10, FOR THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES: 1828
FRANKLIN ST, SYCAMORE STREET SITE CLEARANCE,
215 COURTLAND STREET, 411 ARCHER STREET, 318-
320 IRVING STREET, 160 DAWSON STREET AND 438
W. AIRLINE HIGHWAY TO BEGIN.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2010-647, plans, specifications,
bid document, form of contract, etc., for the Demolition and Site
Clearance Project, Contract No. 171 -D -EDI -08-02-10, for the
following properties: 1828 Franklin St, Sycamore Street site
clearance, 215 Courtland Street, 411 Archer Street, 318-320
Irving Street, 160 Dawson Street and 438 W. Airline Highway, in
the City of Waterloo, Iowa, have been approved and adopted by
this Council after the hearing prescribed by statute.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that it is deemed advisable and necessary and it
is so ordered on motion by this Council that the said demolition
in accordance with said plans and specifications begin.
That the work herein ordered is to be paid in monthly
estimates, in cash, on the basis of 90 percent of the work as the
same is completed and the work approved, except that before the
last month's payment is made the contractor may be required to
furnish the City Council vouchers showing that all subcontractors
and workmen and persons furnishing equipment or materials have
been fully paid for such equipment, materials and labor, and that
the City may retain the last month's payment for a period of 31
days following such completion and approval, unless satisfied
that equipment, materials, men and laborers have been paid.
That said work shall be done by contract and shall be
commenced promptly after receipt of "Notice to Proceed".
