RESOLUTION NO. 2023-309
RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMISSION OF A U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SAFE STREETS FOR
ALL (SS4A) GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF NOT TO EXCEED
$10,000,000.00, FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A
COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY ACTION PLAN AND
COMMITTING TO PROVIDING THE REQUIRED 20% LOCAL
MATCH AND IMPLEMENTING THE ACTION PLAN WITH A
TARGET DATE OF 2045 TO ACHIEVE ZERO TRAFFIC
FATALITIES AND SEVERE INJURIES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that the Safe Streets For All (SS4A) Grant offer from the Iowa Department of Transportation, in
an amount not to exceed $10,000,000.00, for Development of a Comprehensive Safety Action
Plan and committing to providing the required 20% local match and implementing the Action
Plan with a target date of 2045 to achieve zero traffic fatalities and severe injuries, is hereby
approved.
