RESOLUTION NO. 2023-319
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PETERSON
CONTRACTORS, INC. OF REINBECK, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $2,486,160.95, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY
2023 E. SAN MARNAN DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT,
CONTRACT NO. 1084, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc. of Reinbeck, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount
of $2,486,160.95, in conjunction with the FY 2023 E. San Marnan Drive Reconstruction Project,
Contract No. 1084, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2023-318, after public hearing on May 15, 2023, in conjunction with the FY
2023 E. San Marnan Drive Reconstruction Project, Contract No. 1084.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $2,486,160.95, in conjunction
with the FY 2023 E. San Marnan Drive Reconstruction Project, Contract No. 1084, is
hereby awarded to Peterson Contractors, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Peterson Contractors,
Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2023 E. San Marnan Drive Reconstruction Project,
Contract No. 1084, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of May 2023.
