V) "'L- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, ENTITLED "AMBULANCES" BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION TO SECTION 5-2 EXEMPTING AMBULANCES OPERATED BY THE CITY OR BY GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND BY REPEALING SECTION 5-8 REQUIRING LICENSE HOLDERS TO MAINTAIN TWO AMBULANCES AND PERSONNEL ON TWENTY-FOUR HOUR DUTY AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 4 PROVIDING FOR CHARGES FOR CITY OPERATED EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, THAT: Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa is amended as follows: The following Subsection is added to Section 5-2: (C) Ambulances operated by the City or by any agencies of the United States or State of Iowa shall not be required to be licensed hereunder. Section 5-8 entitled "Minimum number of ambulances to be maintained by ambulance company; twenty-four hour service required", is repealed in its entirety. Chapter 5 is further amended by adding a new Article as follows: ARTICTF IV. CHARGES FOR CITY EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE Section 5-49. Any person using a City operated emergency ambulance shall pay to the Clerk of the City such charges therefor as shall be, from time to time, established and set by resolution of the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
