ORDINANCE NO. 1 (9(o -
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 19 ENTITT,FD "HOUSING"
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
BY REPEALING SECTION 64 AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 64
IN LIEU THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA that:
Chapter 19, Section 64 is hereby repealed and the following is enacted in
lieu thereof:
SECTION 19-64. Electrical convenience outlets; light fixtures.
Where there is electric service available from power lines which are not
more than three hundred (300) feet away from a dwelling, each habitable room
shall contain at least two (2) separate floor or wall type electric convenience
outlets or one (1) such convenience outlet and one (1) supplied ceiling
fixture; and every water closet compartment or bathroom shall contain at
least one (1) wall or floor type electric convenience outlet and one (1)
supplied wall or ceiling electric light fixture. Each laundry room, furnace
room, stairway and public hallway shall contain at least one (1) supplied
ceiling or wall type electric fixture. Each dwelling or dwelling unit shall be
supplied with a minimum of sixty (60) amp. electrical power service.
