HomeMy WebLinkAbout2678-05.13.1974 ORDINANCE NO. 2678 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 329, OF ORDINANCE NO. 2644, KNOWN AS THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION "d" OF SAID SECTION 329 AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION "d" IN LIEU THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA: That Section 329 of Ordinance No. 2644, known as the traffic ordinance of the City of Waterloo, Iowa is hereby amended by repealing Subsection "d" of said Section 329 and enacting in lieu thereof, a new Subsection "d", as follows: "d" Any other facts, a knowledge of which is necessary to a thorough understanding of the circumstances attending such violation; each such police officer or person authorized to do so by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, shall also attach to such vehicle a notice to the owner or operator thereof that such vehicle has been parked in violation of either Sections 324, 325, 326, 327 or 328 and instructing such owner or operator to report at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, in regard to such violation. Each such owner or operator may, within twelve (12) hours after the time when such notice was attached to such vehicle, deposit the sum of 50 in a meter fine collection box provided for such purpose, and installed at various locations within the City of Waterloo, as a penalty for and in full satisfaction in violation of Section 325. If such owner or operator shall fail to pay the afore- said penalty of 50 in the manner herein provided then such owner or operator may, within forty-eight (48) hours of the time when such notice was attached to such vehicle, pay the office of the City Clerk of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as a penalty for and in full satisfaction in violation of Section 325, the sum of One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) . The failure of such owner or operator to make proper payment within forty-eight (48) hours shall render such owner or operator subject to the penalties hereinafter provided in Section 330.
