RESOLUTION NO. 2023-358
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO VIETH
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $214,261.50, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE FY 2023 GREENBELT LAKE REAP GRANT PROJECT
PHASE II (BASE BID + ALTERNATE), CONTRACT NO. 1085, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $214,261.50, in conjunction with the FY 2023 Greenbelt Lake REAP Grant Project
Phase II (Base Bid + Alternate), Contract No. 1085, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2023-357, after public hearing on June 5, 2023, in conjunction with the FY
2023 Greenbelt Lake REAP Grant Project Phase II (Base Bid + Alternate), Contract No. 1085.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Vieth Construction Corporation, in the amount of $214,261.50, in
conjunction with the FY 2023 Greenbelt Lake REAP Grant Project Phase II (Base Bid +
Alternate), Contract No. 1085, is hereby awarded to Vieth Construction Corporation.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Vieth Construction
Corporation, in conjunction with the FY 2023 Greenbelt Lake REAP Grant Project Phase
II (Base Bid + Alternate), Contract No. 1085, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June 2023.
