RESOLUTION NO. 2023-362
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO BITUMINOUS
MATERIALS & SUPPLY, LP, OF DES MOINES, IOWA IN THE
AMOUNT OF $321,490.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE STREET DEPARTMENT SEAL COAT PROGRAM, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Bituminous Materials & Supply, LP, of Des Moines„ Iowa, submitted a bid
in the amount of $321,490.00, in conjunction with the Street Department Seal Coat Program, and
is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Bituminous Materials & Supply, LP submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2023-361, after public hearing on June 5, 2023, in conjunction with the
Street Department Seal Coat Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Bituminous Materials & Supply, LP, in the amount of $321,490.00, in
conjunction with the Street Department Seal Coat Program, is hereby awarded to
Bituminous Materials & Supply, LP.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Bituminous Materials &
Supply, LP, in conjunction with the Street Department Seal Coat Program, are hereby
approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June 2023.
