BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA: Section1. REPEALING. That Ordinance No. 2498, and all other ordinances, or parts thereof of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 2. WARDS. That the territory embraced within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be divided into five (5) wards, to be called the First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Wards, the boundaries of said wards are hereby established and defined and set out in Sections 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of this ordinance. Section 3. FIRST WARD. That the First Ward shall be all the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, hereinafter described as follows: All of the area lying south and west of a line commencing at the intersection of the main channel of the Cedar River and the most westerly boundary line of the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, thence southeasterly along the main channel of the Cedar River to the intersection of the main channel with West Conger Street; thence southwesterly on West Conger Street to the intersection of Westfield Avenue; thence south and east on Westfield Avenue to the intersection of Cleveland Street; thence south on Cleveland Street to Fletcher Avenue; thence south on Fletcher Avenue to Summit Avenue; thence east on Summit Avenue to Sullivan Avenue; thence south on Sullivan Avenue to West Fourth Street; thence southwesterly on West Fourth Street to Ansborough Avenue; thence south on Ansborough Avenue to West Shaulis Road; thence west on West Shaulis Road to Hoff Road; thence south on Hoff Road to the southerly city limits boundary line, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Section 4. SECOND WARD. That the Second Ward shall be all the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Allen Street; thence southeasterly on Allen Street to the intersection with Johnson Street; thence southeasterly on Johnson Street to Williston Avenue; thence east on Williston Avenue to West Eleventh Street; thence south on West Eleventh Street to Howard Avenue; thence west on Howard Avenue to Hammond Avenue; thence south on Hammond Avenue to the southerly city limits boundary line; thence west along the southerly city limits boundary line to Hoff Road; thence north on Hoff Road to West Shaulis Road; thence east on West Shaulis Road to Ansborough Avenue; thence north on Ansborough Avenue to West Fourth Street; thence northeasterly along West Fourth Street to the point of beginning, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Section 5. THIRD WARD. That the Third Ward shall be all the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: All of the area lying north and northerly of the main channel of the Cedar River and west and westerly of a line described as beginning one-quarter (1/4) mile east of Logan Avenue along the northerly city limits boundary line; thence south along a line one-quarter (1/4) mile east and parallel with Logan Avenue to East Fourth Street; thence south on East Fourth Street to its intersection with Franklin Street; thence southeasterly along Franklin Street to East Tenth Street; thence southwesterly along East Tenth Street and East Tenth Street extended to its intersection with the main channel of the Cedar River in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Section 6. FOURTH WARD. That the Fourth Ward shall be all the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: -2- All of the area lying north and northerly of the main channel of the Cedar River and east and easterly of a line described as beginning one-quarter (1/4) mile east of Logan Avenue along the northerly city limits boundary line; thence south along a line which is one-quarter (1/4) mile east and parallel with Logan Avenue to East Fourth Street; thence south along East Fourth Street to its intersection with Franklin Street; thence southeasterly along Franklin Street to East Tenth Street; thence southwesterly along East Tenth Street and East Tenth Street extended to its intersection with the main channel of the Cedar River, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. That the Fifth Ward shall be all the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: All of the area lying south and southerly and west and westerly of the main channel of the Cedar River and east and easterly of a line commencing at the intersection of the main channel of the Cedar River and West Conger Street; thence southwesterly along West Conger Street to its intersection with Westfield Avenue; thence south and easterly to its intersection with Cleveland Street; thence south on Cleveland Street to Fletcher Avenue; thence south on Fletcher Avenue to Summit Avenue; thence east on Summit Avenue to Sullivan Avenue; thence south on Sullivan Avenue to West Fourth Street; thence northeasterly on West Fourth Street to Allen Street; thence southeasterly on Allen Street to its intersection with Johnson Street; thence southeasterly on Johnson Street to Williston Avenue; thence east on Williston Avenue to West Eleventh Street; thence south on West Eleventh Street to Howard Avenue; thence west on Howard Avenue to Hammond Avenue; thence south on Hammond Avenue to the southerly city limits boundary line in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. That the territory embraced within the various wards within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be divided into precincts to be known as the 1st precinct of the 1st ward, the 2nd precinct of the 1st ward, the 3rd precinct of the 1st ward, the 4th precinct of the 1st ward, the 5th precinct of the 1st ward, the 6th precinct of the 1st ward, the 7th precinct of the 1st ward, the 8th precinct of the 1st ward; the 1st precinct of the 2nd ward, the 2nd precinct of the 2nd ward, the 3rd precinct of the 2nd ward, the 4th precinct of the 2nd ward, the 5th precinct of the 2nd ward, the 6th precinct of the 2nd ward, the 7th precinct of the 2nd ward, the 8th precinct of the 2nd ward; the 1st precinct of the 3rd ward, the 2nd precinct of the 3rd ward, the 3rd precinct of the 3rd ward, the 4th precinct of the 3rd ward, the 5th precinct of the 3rd ward, the 6th precinct of the 3rd ward, the 7th precinct of the 3rd ward; the 1st precinct of the 4th ward, the 2nd precinct of the 4th ward, the 3rd precinct of the 4th ward, the 4th precinct of the 4th ward, the 5th precinct of the 4th ward, the 6th precinct of the 4th ward, the 7th precinct of the 4th ward; the 1st precinct of the 5th ward, the 2nd precinct of the 5th ward, the 3rd precinct of the 5th ward, the 4th precinct of the 5th ward, the 5th precinct of the 5th ward, the 6th precinct of the 5th ward, the 7th precinct of the 5th ward, and the 8th precinct of the 5th ward. The 1st precinct of the 1st ward shall embrace the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Fletcher Avenue; thence south on Fletcher Avenue to Kingsley Avenue; thence east on Kingsley Avenue to Euclid Avenue; thence south on Euclid Avenue to Columbia Circle; thence southerly on Columbia Circle to Kingbard Boulevard; thence east on Kingbard Boulevard to Clough Street; thence south on Clough Street to West Fourth Street; thence northeasterly on West Fourth Street to Sullivan Avenue; thence north on Sullivan Avenue to Summit Avenue; thence west on Summit Avenue to the point of beginning. Section 10. 2ND OF THE FIRST.
