AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 9-45 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
RELATING TO PERMIT FEES FOR THE MOVING OF BUILD-
INGS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER
9-45.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, THAT:
Chapter 9-45 which reads as follows, be, and the same is hereby repealed
in its entirety:
Section 9-45 - Permit Fee
The application for a permit to move a building shall be accompanied by a
permit fee in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for a structure
of less than five hundred (500) square feet,' and fifty dollars ($50.00)
for a structure of more than five hundred (500) square feet, as calculated
from the outside foundation dimensions of entire structure.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, THAT
IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER 9-45 BE ENACTED, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 9-45 - Permit Fee
The application for a permit to move a building shall be accompanied by a
permit fee in the amount of five dollars ($5.00) for a structure of less
than two hundred (200) square feet, and twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for
a structure of less than five hundred (500) square feet, and fifty dollars
($50.00) for a structure of more than five hundred (500) square feet, as
calculated from the outside foundation dimensions of entire structure.
In the event a building or structure is moved from the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, to Cedar Falls, Iowa, or to Evansdale, Iowa, or if a building or
structure is to be moved from Cedar Falls, Iowa or Evansdale, Iowa, into
Waterloo, Iowa, the permit fee shall be equally divided between the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, and the other city involved. In either event, only
one permit fee shall be charged and the permit fee shall be paid to the
city from which the building or structure is being moved.
