RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
AUGUST 21, 2023, TO APPROVE THE REQUEST BY THE
CITY OF WATERLOO TO VACATE 157,048 SQUARE FEET
OF WEST AIRLINE HIGHWAY FROM 3469 WEST AIRLINE
HIGHWAY TO 2950 GERALDINE ROAD, WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF A 21,105 SQUARE FOOT SECTION OF
CITY -OWNED RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 3469 WEST AIRLINE
HIGHWAY THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY VACATED, SUBJECT
TO THE RETENTION OF A DRAINAGE AND UTILITY
EASEMENT OVER THE ENTIRE VACATED AREA, AND
INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, meet in the Harold E. Getty
Council Chambers at City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, at 5:30 p.m. on the 21' day of August 2023, to
hold a public hearing, in conjunction with the request by the City of Waterloo to vacate 157,048
square feet of West Airline Highway from 3469 West Airline Highway to 2950 Geraldine Road,
with the exception of a 21,105 square foot section of City -owned right-of-way at 3469 West
Airline Highway that was previously vacated, subject to the retention of a drainage and utility
easement over the entire vacated area.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of the time and place of
said hearing in the Waterloo Courier.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of August 2023.
