F.Y. 1979 PAVING PROGRAM NO. 2
(CONTRACT NO. 170)
RESOLUTION ORDERING BIDS, APPROVING PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS AND FORM OF CONTRACT AND NOTICE
TO BIDDERS, FIXING AMOUNT OF BID SECURITY,
AND ORDERING CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE AND
FIXING A DATE FOR RECEIVING SAME, AND FOR A
PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, FORM
OF CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE OF COSTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA:
That the "Waterloo, Iowa, F.Y. 1979 Paving Program No. 2
(Contract No. 170) " , is hereby ordered to be advertised for
bids for construction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the detailed plans and speci-
fications as prepared by Ralph Anderson, Engineer, for the
project, for the construction of the "Waterloo, Iowa, F.Y.
1979 Paving Program No. 2 (Contract No. 170) " , and the form of
contract and Notice to Bidders, as approved by the Attorney,
be and the same are hereby approved, subject to hearing
thereon, and are hereby ordered placed on file in the office
of the Clerk for public inspection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amount of the security
to accompany each bid shall be in the amount ofnot less than 5% not more
pursuant to the provisions of Section 384. 98 of said Code, thsn 10%
which bid security shall conform to the provisions of the
Notice to Bidders hereby approved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk be and is hereby
directed to publish notice to bidders once in the Waterloo
Courier , a legal newspaper, printed wholly in the
English language, published at least once weekly and having
general circulation in this City. Publication shall be not
less than four clear days nor more than twenty days prior to
A2ril 2 , 1979, which latter date is hereby fixed as
the date for receiving bids . Said bids are to be filed prior
to 4: 00 o'clock p .M. , on said date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk be and is hereby
directed to publish notice of hearing once in said newspaper,
said publication to be not less than four clear days nor more
than twenty days prior to the date hereinafter fixed as the
date for a public hearing on the plans , specifications , form
of contract and estimate of costs for said project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council meet in the
Council Chambers in the City Hall at o'clock .M. ,
on April 7 , 1979, for the purpose of conducting a public
hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract and
estimate of costs for said improvements and for the purpose of
acting on the bids to be received for the construction thereof
in accordance with the Notice to Bidders to be published as
herein provided.
