HomeMy WebLinkAbout26274-04.23.1979 RESOLUTION NO. 2 6 2 7 4 FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ON PRO- POSED ASSESSMENTS FOR CUTTING AND DESTRUCT- ION OF WEEDS FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1978. WHEREAS, the Parks Director of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1321 as amended , being an ordinance providing for the destruction of weeds, vines and bushes and assessing the cost thereof as a special tax against lots and lands and the owners thereof , filed with the City Clerk and itemized report of the cutting and des- truction of weeds, vines and bushes for the Calendar Year 1978, with the names of the owners, agents, or occupants of the pre- mises, so far as known, and the number and description of the lots or parcels of ground concerned , and has filed with the City Clerk a plat or schedule showing the several lots, tracts of land or parcels of ground to be assessed and the amount proposed to be assessed against each of the same for the Calendar Year 1978, including the cost of the publication of Notice of Assessment , and the preparation of the plat or schedule thereof, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems the said schedule of pro- posed assessments to be proper, and that such assessments should be made, now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the 14th day of May, 1979, at 7 :00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be, and the same is hereby, fixed as the time and place for public hearing on such pro- posed assessments, and that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to give at least fifteen (15) days notice of such hearing prior to the time herein fixed to all concerned that such plat or schedule is on file, and that the amounts as shown therein will be assessed against the several lots, tracts of land or parcels of ground described in said plat or schedule at the time fixed for such hearing and that all objections to the same must be made at , or prior to the time so fixed. Said notice shall be given by publication in the Waterloo Courier, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Passed and approved this 23rd day of April , 1979.
