RESOLUTION ADOPTING RESOLUTION OF INTENT AND
UNDERSTANDING.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, that the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on this 7th day of May, 1979,
hereby acknowledges that it has before it the Application of Waterloo
Cablevision, Inc. , for special pay cablevision programing with the re-
quest for additional fees therefore; that it has jurisdiction over basic
cablevision services but since the granting of the franchise to Applicant
the law of the land has provided that the Federal Communication CotiuHiss-
ion has sole jurisdiction over special pay cablevision programing in ex-
cess of the basic service; and that Waterloo Cablevision, Inc. , neverthe-
less wishes to have approval of the City of Waterloo for said additional
special pay cablevision programing as proposed heretofore and has respect-
fully requested that the City of Waterloo grant such approval notwith-
standing its lack of jurisdiction over the same,
BE IT RESOLVED, THEREFORE, that the Application of Waterloo
Cablevision, Inc. , for special pay cablevision programing and the request
for additional fees therefore be and is hereby approved, subject to ultimate
determination by the Federal Communications Commission.
