HomeMy WebLinkAbout26314-05.14.1979 RESOLUTION NO. ) 1 (PROPOSED) RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY FOR F .Y. 1979 OILING PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. 1, BEING A RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY FOR THE IMPROVE- MENT OF STREETS, AVENUES, DRIVES, ROADS, B OULEV ARDS AND ALLEYS, ETC. , OR PORTIONS THEREOF , HEREIN DESCRIBED, BY OILING THE SAME IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, ON PETITIONS AND ON COUNCIL'S OWN MOTION, that it is deemed necessary and advisable that the following streets, avenues, drives, roads, boulevards and alleys, etc. , or portions thereof, be improved by oiling the same: JANNEY AVENUE, from Magnolia Parkway to Wallgate Avenue, twenty-seven feet wide (27 ' ) MAYNARD AVENUE, from South Hackett Road to East Property line of 2450 Maynard Avenue, twenty feet wide (20 ' ) OREGON STREET, from Bertch Avenue to Williston Avenue, twenty-two feet wide (22 ' ) OREGON STREET, from Hawthorne Avenue to Forest Avenue, twenty-two feet wide (22 ' ) BOURLAND AVENUE, from West Ninth Street to Randolph Street , twenty-one feet wide (21 ' ) STEELY STREET, from Vine Street to Railroad Avenue, twenty-four feet wide (24 ' ) ELEANOR DRIVE, from Downing Avenue to Sager Avenue, twenty-seven feet wide (27 ' ) HENRY COURT, from Hammond Avenue to Linwood Avenue, nineteen feet wide (19 ' ) WALLGATE AVENUE, from University Avenue to Janney Avenue, twenty-seven feet wide ( 27 ' ) WINGHAVEN DRIVE, from West Fourth Street to Dead End , twenty-two feet wide (22 ' ) MADISON STREET, from Arizona Street to Idaho Street , twenty-six feet wide (26 ' ) DEARBORN AVENUE, from Nevada Street to Adrian Street , twenty-one feet wide (21 ' ) CARRINGTON AVENUE, from Movilla Street to Alice Avenue, twenty-one feet wide (21 ' ) ADRIAN STREET, from Lafayette Street to Dubuque Road , twenty- four feet wide (24 ' ) ALLEY between Williston Avenue and Pleasant Street , from West Sixth Stre± to East , ten feet wide (10 ' ) ALLEY between Falls Avenue and Harwood Avenue, from Knoll Avenue to Cleveland Street , fourteen feet wide (14 ' ) ALLEY between West Sixth Street and West Seventh Street , from Johnson Street to Allen Street , twelve feet wide (12 ' ) ALLEY between Dundee Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue, from Bismark Avenue to Stratford Avenue, ten feet wide (10 ' ) ALLEY between West Fourth Street and West Fifth Street , from Vermont Street to Denver Street , twelve feet wide (12 ' ) ALLEY between Madison Street and Independence .Avenue, from Arizona Street to Idaho Street , ten feet wide (10 ' ) ALLEY between Denver Street and Baltimore Street , from Pleasant Street to West Fifth Street , eleven feet wide (11 ' ) ALLEY between Western Avenue and West Sixth Street , from Williston Avenue to Pleasant Street , twelve feet wide (12 ' ) ALLEY between Ash Street and Beech Street , from Webster Street to Newell Street , twelve feet wide (12 ' ) ALLEY between Magnolia Parkway and Wallgate Avenue, from University Avenue to Janney Avenue, twelve feet wide (12 ' ) ALLEY between "T" alley bound by Bayard , West Fourth Street , Vermont Street and West Fifth, twelve feet wide (12') The cost and expense of making said improvement will be assessed as provided by law, as a special tax against all property abutting upon the streets, avenues, drives, roads boulevards and alleys so improved . That said work shall be done by the Superintendent of Street Depart- ment of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, under the direction of the City Engin- eer and the Public Works Committee of the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and an accurate itemized account of all the costs and expenses there- of shall be kept and a report of the same made to this Council upon the completion of said work. That unless property owners at the time of the final consideration of this resolution have on file with the City Clerk written objections to the proposed improvements they shall be deemed to have waived all objections thereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing improvement of said streets, avenues, drives, roads, boulevards and alleys, etc. , by oiling, hereby proposed to be made and this resolution, be, and the same are hereby, set down for further hearing, consideration and determination and passage at a meeting of the City Council to be held on the 4th day of June, 1979, at 7 :00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City and that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause notice of the time and place when this resolution will be considered for passage and objections to the passage thereof and to the construction of said improvements heard, to be given by publication in the Waterloo Daily Courier, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, in a manner and for the time provided by law.
