RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF BID TO FLINT HILLS
RESOURCES LP OF DUBUQUE, IOWA FOR PRODUCTS
USED FOR OILING AND CHIP SEALING; AND
BITUMINOUS MATERIALS & SUPPLY, LP OF DES
MOINES, IOWA FOR PRODUCTS USED FOR FOG
SEALING AND MAKING OIL DIRT, IN A TOTAL
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $155,000.00, TO BE USED
FOR THIS YEAR'S OILING/SEAL COATING AND CRACK
SEALING PROGRAM.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That the bid of Flint Hills Resources, LP of Dubuque, Iowa,
for the products of HFMS-2S (used in oiling) at $1.9345 per
gallon ($11,607.50) and CRS -2P (used for chip sealing) at $2.2145
per gallon ($110,745.46), and award of contract to Bituminous
Materials & Supply, LP of Des Moines, Iowa, for the products of
CSS1-Dilute (used for fog sealing) at $0.95 per gallon
($19,000.00) and HFE-300 (used for making oil dirt) at $1.95 per
gallon ($11,700.00) for a total bid not to exceed $155,000.00,
for purchase of asphalt emulsion products to be used for this
year's Oiling/Seal Coating and Crack Sealing Program, be and is
hereby accepted, the same being the lowest bids received for said
purchases.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of June, 2010.
