HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-165-03/01/2010RESOLUTION NO. 2010-165 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN ACQUISITION CONTRACTS TO SELL REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY AND ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN DEEDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM PROPERTY ACQUISITION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has had the parcels described herein appraised and the fair market value ascertained, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described parcels is in conjunction with the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Property Acquisition Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the contracts for the parcels hereinafter described to sell the same to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, all of which are situated in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, are accepted and approved and the Mayor Pro Tem and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same in behalf of the City and to execute all instruments necessary to consummate the agreements to purchase the property from the owners thereof, and the deeds for the conveyance of the same are also accepted and approved and the City of Waterloo is directed to pay for the properties from City funds. and The subject addresses are: Owners - Barbara Ann Spears and Beverly Joan Spears Address - 104 Woodside Drive Total Acquisition - $53,328.00 That part of Lots Nos. Twenty ( 2 0 ) and Forty-one ( 41) in Sherwood Park, a subdivision in Sections Nos. Sixteen (16) and Twenty-one (21), Township No. Eighty- nine (89) North, Range No. Thirteen (13) West of the Fifth P.M., in Black Hawk County, Iowa, described as follows: Commencing at the Northwesterly corner of said Lot No. Forty-one (41) and running thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said lot, a distance of One Hundred Forty-four and two-tenths (144.2) feet; thence Southerly in a straight line to the most Easterly corner of Lot No. Twenty (20); thence Southwesterly along the Southeasterly line of said Lot No. Twenty (20) a distance of Seventy-one and one-tenth (71.1) feet; thence Northwesterly in a straight line to a point in the Northwesterly line of said Lot No. Twenty (20) that is Twenty-seven and five -tenths (27.5) feet Southwesterly from the most Northerly corner of said Lot No. Twenty (20); thence Northeasterly along the Northwesterly lines of said Lots Nos.
