RESOLUTION NO. 2023-552
RESOLUTIONS STATING THE CITY WILL NOT USE EMINENT DOMAIN
POWERS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF FIBER OPTICS AS PART OF EDA
PROJECT PHASE II FIBER EXPANSION, GRANT NO. 05-79-06185, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo desires to undertake a project for establishing fiber
optics as part of EDA Project Phase II Fiber Expansion, Grant No. 05-79-06185, and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo will not use any available power of eminent domain
(including the commencement of eminent domain proceedings) for the purpose of advancing the
economic interests of private parties in connection with any property comprising said Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City of Waterloo will not use any available power of eminent
domain (including the commencement of eminent domain proceedings) for the purpose of
advancing the economic interests of private parties in connection with any property comprising
said project for establishing fiber optics as part of EDA Project Phase II Fiber Expansion, Grant
No. 05-79-06185.
