RESOLUTION NO. 2023-564
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO WOODRUFF
CONSTRUCTION OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BASE BID AMOUNT
OF $289,700.00 WITH ALTERNATE 2 DEDUCTED IN THE
AMOUNT OF $25,000.00 FOR A TOTAL AWARD OF BID IN THE
AMOUNT OF $264,700.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE WATERLOO PUBLIC LIBRARY 2023 INTERIOR
RENOVATIONS PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 28439, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Woodruff Construction of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a base bid of
$289,700.00 with Alternate 2 deducted in the amount of $25,000.00 for a total bid in the amount
of $264,700.00, in conjunction with the Waterloo Public Library 2023 Interior Renovations
Project, Contract No. 28439, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Woodruff Construction submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2023-563, after public hearing on September 18, 2023, in conjunction with the
Waterloo Public Library 2023 Interior Renovations Project, Contract No. 28439.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Woodruff Construction, in the amount of $264,700.00, in conjunction
with the Waterloo Public Library 2023 Interior Renovations Project, Contract No. 28439,
is hereby awarded to Woodruff Construction.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Woodruff Construction,
in conjunction with the Waterloo Public Library 2023 Interior Renovations Project,
Contract No. 28439, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of September 2023.
