RESOLUTION NO. 2023-603
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO LEHMAN
TRUCKING & EXCAVATING, INC., OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $82,000.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BOND, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH DEMOLITION AND SITE CLEARANCE SERVICES,
CONTRACT NO. D-2023-09-06P, LOCATED AT 1804 E. 4TH
STREET, 637 ANKENY STREET, 207 LAFAYETTE STREET, 208
SUNNYSIDE AVENUE, 212 SUNNYSIDE AVENUE, AND 1318
MARTIN ROAD, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, Lehman Trucking & Excavating, Inc., submitted a bid in the amount of
$82,000.00, in conjunction with Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract No. D-2023-
09-06P, located at 1804 E. 4th Street, 637 Ankeny Street, 207 Lafayette Street, 208 Sunnyside
Avenue, 212 Sunnyside Avenue, and 1318 Martin Road, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Lehman Trucking & Excavating, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond
and certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said
project with Resolution No. 2023-602, after public hearing on October 2, 2023, in conjunction
with Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract No. D-2023-09-06P, located at 1804 E.
4th Street, 637 Ankeny Street, 207 Lafayette Street, 208 Sunnyside Avenue, 212 Sunnyside
Avenue, and 1318 Martin Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Lehman Trucking & Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $82,000.00, in
conjunction with Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract No. D-2023-09-06P,
located at 1804 E. 4th Street, 637 Ankeny Street, 207 Lafayette Street, 208 Sunnyside
Avenue, 212 Sunnyside Avenue, and 1318 Martin Road, is hereby awarded to Lehman
Trucking & Excavating, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Lehman Trucking &
Excavating, Inc., in conjunction with Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract
No. D-2023-09-06P, located at 1804 E. 4th Street, 637 Ankeny Street, 207 Lafayette
Street, 208 Sunnyside Avenue, 212 Sunnyside Avenue, and 1318 Martin Road, are hereby
approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of October 2023.
