RESOLUTION MAKING ASSESSMENT FOR WORK
PERFORMED BY THE WATER WORKS.
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, did, as provided by law, notify by written notice
the property owner of the premises described below to have the
repairs completed and further damage prevented, and
WHEREAS, the property owner failed to comply with the order
of the Board of Water Works Trustees, as by law provided, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees proceeded to have
the work done on the premises described below, in the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to comply with Ordinance No. 1118 of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees filed with the
City Clerk on the 18th day of March, 2010, a report filing claim
for the repairs and preventing further damage at the below
described premises and same met all the requirements of the City
ordinance and have been fully completed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the said report of the Board of Water Works
Trustees be, and the same is hereby, approved; that the work was
done under and by virtue hereby, accepted, and that the cost of
said work is hereby determined to be as follows, which amount can
be assessed over a ten-year period against the property:
Luther J. Phillips and Nora A. Phillips, Owners
310 Conger Street, Waterloo, Iowa
Legal Description:
Lot No. 8, except the East 15 feet of the North 60 feet
thereof, in Block No. 2 in Calumet Addition to the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, Black Hawk County.
Unpaid Assessment: $2,440.00
Donald I. Gibson, Owner
203 Fairfield Street, Waterloo, Iowa
Lot 10, Block One, Cedar Bend Addition, Waterloo, Iowa,
Black Hawk County.
Unpaid Assessment: $3,500.00
Wayne R. Huffort and Patricia A. Huffort, Owners
707 Denver Street, Waterloo, Iowa
Lot No. Fifteen (15) in Block No. One (1) in Rosewood
Addition in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County,
Iowa.
Unpaid Assessment: $785.00

153 Dawson Street, Waterloo, Iowa
Lot No. 6 in Block No. 10 in "East Park Place" in the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, Black Hawk County.
Unpaid Assessment: $2,400.00

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be, and are hereby
assessed and levied a special tax and assessment against the
property improved in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, said assessment
shall bear interest from the date of levy of the assessment, viz:
April 5, 2010, at the rate of nine (9) percent per annum until
paid on all the unpaid amount of this assessment certified to the
County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby instructed to notify the above described property owners
of said property, accordingly and also instructed to certify said
assessment to the County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, to
be entered upon the tax list to be collected as other taxes, as
provided by law, and when collected to be credited to the Water
Works Fund of said City, and assessment to be made over a ten-
year period.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 2010.

RESOLUTION NO. 2010-214
RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE
AMERICAN LEGION POST 138 TO HOLD ANNUAL POPPY
SALE ON MAY 21-22, 2010.
WHEREAS, The American Legion Post 138 has made written
application to the City Council asking that they be authorized
and permitted to hold the annual Poppy Sale on May 21-22, 2010,
and
WHEREAS, said sale will be held at Hy -Vee Stores located on
University Avenue, Logan Avenue, Byron Avenue, and Flammang
Drive, Fareway on San Marnan Drive, Wal-Mart on Flammang Drive,
K -Mart on University Avenue and the Farmers Market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of The American Legion Post 138
to hold the annual Poppy Sale on May 21-22, 2010 at Hy -Vee Stores
located on University Avenue, Logan Avenue, Byron Avenue, and
Flammang Drive, Fareway on San Marnan Drive, Wal-Mart on Flammang
Drive, K -Mart on University Avenue and the Farmers Market, be and
the same is hereby approved.
