RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST FROM THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS TO BE INCLUDED WITH
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S BID
LETTING FOR ROCK SALT FOR THE SNOW AND ICE
CONTROL PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 2011.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that the request from the Superintendent of Streets to be
included with the Iowa Department of Transportation's bid letting
for rock salt for the Snow and Ice Control Program for Fiscal
Year 2011, be and the same is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 2010.

RESOLUTION NO. 2010-223
RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE USE OF METROPOLITAN
ENHANCEMENT FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A
SEGMENT OF THE RIVER RENAISSANCE TRAIL FROM
PARK AVENUE TO MULLAN AVENUE IN WATERLOO,
IOWA.
WHEREAS, the Black Hawk Metropolitan Area has been developing
a network of multi -use, non -motorized trails for several years;
and
WHEREAS, development of a multi -use trail along the Cedar
River as part of the River Renaissance Project is an important
component of this trail network; and
WHEREAS, funding assistance is available through the Black
Hawk Metropolitan Area Transportation Policy Board's Metropolitan
Enhancement Program and the City of Waterloo is in need of such
assistance in order to fully develop this trail; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo certifies that this multi -use
trail is within its jurisdiction and will remain dedicated to
public use and further that the City of Waterloo will have
jurisdictional responsibility and will adequately maintain the
multi -use trail for a minimum of 20 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the city endorses said project, and that with
assistance of Metropolitan Enhancement funds, the further
development of the multi -use trail will be completed, and that the
non -motorized, multi -use trail will remain dedicated to public use
and adequately maintained.
