RESOLUTION NO. 2023-695
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PETERS
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
WITH A BASE BID OF $6,993,816.62 AND ALTERNATE #1
ADD $59,261.93, FOR A TOTAL BID OF $7,053,078.55,
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE
OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2024
BYRNES AQUATIC CENTER, CONTRACT NO. 1077, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Peters Construction Corporation of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid
in conjunction with the FY 2024 Byrnes Aquatic Center, Contract No. 1077, with a base bid of
$6,993,816.62 and alternate #1 add $59,261.93, for a total bid of $7,053,078.55, and is the
apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peters Construction Corporation submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per city specifications, in conjunction with the FY 2024 Byrnes Aquatic
Center, Contract No. 1077.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of Peters Construction Corporation, with a base bid of $6,993,816.62 and
alternate #1 add $59,261.93, for a total bid of $7,053,078.55, in conjunction with the FY 2024
Byrnes Aquatic Center, Contract No. 1077, is hereby accepted and awarded to Peters
Construction Corporation.
2. That the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance submitted by Peters Construction
Corporation, with a base bid of $6,993,816.62 and alternate #1 add $59,261.93, for a total bid of
$7,053,078.55, in conjunction with the FY 2024 Byrnes Aquatic Center, Contract No. 1077, are
hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of November 2023.
