THE PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING IS TO DISCUSS AND MAKE ANY NECESSARY AMENDMENTS TO THE RATH URBAN RENEWAL AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN,TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL PROJECTS AND UPDATE RELATED FINANCIAL INFORMATION. The area included in the Rath Urban Renewal and Redevelopment Plan (the "Plan")is an area of slum end blight and an economic development area within the meaning of Iowa Code Section 403.17(10).Such area is appropriate for commercial and industrial enterprises and is eligible for an urban renewal project and otherwise meets all requisites under the provisions of Iowa Code Chapter 403. The rehabilitation,conservation,develop- ment,redevelopment,or a combination of such activities,of such area is necessary in the interest of the public health,safety or welfare of the residents of the City of Waterloo.
