RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, AS THE WATERLOO HOUSING
AUTHORITY, APPROVING USE OF SECTION 8
ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATING RESERVES FOR ELEVATOR
AND REMODELING OF WATERLOO HOUSING AUTHORITY
OFFICE SPACE.
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
required the Waterloo Housing Authority to establish a threshold
for expenditures from the Section 8 Operating Reserve for "other
housing purposes" not directly related to Section 8 Program
activities, and
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Housing Authority adopted a threshold of
"any and all expenditures" on February 25, 1992 as part of the
Authority' s Section 8 Administrative Plan, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has
been consulted and has consented that remodeling of the office
space to house the Authority is a "housing related purpose" .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, as the Waterloo Housing Authority, approves the
use of not more than $12, 500 Housing Voucher and $47, 500 Section 8
Certificate Program specifically for expenditures for remodeling
and new elevator at the Former East Side Library.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 1993 , and
approved by the Mayor this 22nd day of December, 1993 .
