RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING FROM THE GENERAL FUND
THE SUM OF ONE MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-
NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE AND TEN
CENTS ( $1,729,231 . 10) TO THE TRUST AND AGENCY
FUND.
WHEREAS, an annual audit of the finances of the City of
Waterloo was conducted by the independent auditing firm of Hogan &
Hansen for the year ending June 30, 1992 and subsequently for the
year ending June 30, 1993, and having found that the City had
transferred $1,719,644 . 16 into the General Fund in excess of
allowable employee benefits that were actually expended for the
years ending June 30, 1991 and June 30, 1992, and subsequently
transferred the amount of $9, 586.94 into the General Fund in excess
of the total amount of actual allowable employee benefits expended
for the year ending June 30, 1993 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that a transfer be made retroactively to July 1 ,
1992 for the amount of $1,719,644.16 from the General Fund to the
Trust and Agency Fund to correct for excess transfers made for
employee benefits prior to July 1 , 1992 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that an additional transfer be made retroactively
to June 30 , 1993 for the amount of $9 , 586. 94 from the General Fund
to the Trust and Agency Fund to correct excess transfers made for
employee benefits for the year ended June 30 , 1993 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acting City Clerk be
instructed to certify a copy of this resolution to the City
Treasurer of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, in order that the said
transfers be made.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 6th day of December, 1993 .
