Discussion of an ordinance amending Section 1-4-11, Method of Keeping Minutes.
Kelley Felchle, City Clerk, proposed a change in the ordinance regarding the recording of
minutes. She explained that currently, the city code dictates that we record a synopsis of what
is said in the meeting. She would like to make this move, so we are inline with the statutory
requirements as outlined in the state code. This change would save the city money in
publication costs and also staff time.
Mr. Boesen commented that the meetings are available on YouTube or our cable access
channel.
Mr Chiles supports this proposed change and asked that council also consider a review of
public comments at council meetings.
Kelley Felchle shared that the only requirement for taking public comment is during a public
hearing.
