RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, APPROVING APPLICATION TO
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR
FEDERAL RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUNDING AND
DIRECTING EXECUTION OF SAID APPLICATION BY
MAYOR.
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation administers
the Federal Recreational Trails program for the State of Iowa;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is investing in recreational
improvements to the Cedar River Boating Center Phase II; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo will provide the twenty
percent local match as required.
WHEREAS, the Boating Center is an integral component of the
Cedar River Water Trail; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is willing to maintain the
Cedar River Boating Center for a minimum of twenty years and
provide the local match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa
authorizes the application to be submitted to the Iowa
Department of Transportation for Federal Recreational Trails
funding, in the amount of $750,000.00
