RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by
the Clty Clerk of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, at her office in the City Hall of
the said City on the 18th day of April
2024 until 1:00 p.m. for the construc-
tion of the FY 2025 LEVEE RIP RAP
SPRAYING, Contract No. 1104, as
described in detail In the plans and
specifications now on file In the Office
of the City Clerk.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received will be opened
In the Harold Getty Council Chambers,
second floor of City Hall, in the City
of Waterloo. Iowa on the 18th day of
April 2024 at 1:00 p.m., and the pro-
posals will be acted upon at such later
time and place as may then be fixed by
the City Council. The bid opening will
be livestream ed onYouTube and made
available on the city website.
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Coun-
cil of said City alll conduct a pub-
lic hearing on the proposed plans,
specifications, form of contract, and
estimate of cost for the construction
of the above -described improvement
project at 5:30 p.m. on the 6th day of
May 2024, sald hearing to be held in
the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers
in City Hall in said City. The proposed
plans, specifications, form of contract,
and estimate of cast for said improve-
ments heretofore prepared by the Clty
of Waterloo are now on file in the office
of the Gity Clerk for public examina-
tion, and any person interested therein
may flle written objection thereto with
the City Clerk before the date set for
said hearing. or appear and make
objection thereto with the Clty Clerk

appear and make objection thereto at
the meeting above set forth.
SCOPE OF WORK
The work Involved In this project con-
sists of spraying trees, shrubs, and
other unwanted vegetation in various
reaches of the levees of the Waterloo
Flood Control System. Target vegeta-
tion shall include plants that obstruct
the efficient operation of structures,
prevent proper maintenance of the le-
vee, or threaten the safety of the levee.
Published pursuant to the provisions
of Chapter 26 of the City Code of lowa
and upon order to the Clty Council of
said Waterloo. Iowa, on the 1st day of
April 2024.
