RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST OF CEDAR VALLEY
IRISH CULTURAL ASSOCIATION TO HOLD THE 10TH
ANNUAL IOWA IRISH FEST ON AUGUST 5TH, 6TH AND 7TH
IN LINCOLN PARK AND SURROUNDING STREETS,
INCLUDING A 5K ON AUGUST 6, 2016 FROM 6:30 A.M. TO
10:30 A.M.
WHEREAS, the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association has made written application to
the City Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold the 10th Annual Iowa Irish
Fest event on August 5 through August 7, 2016, together with the approval of the Director of
Safety Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will be held at Lincoln Park to include the set up and tear down
on August 3`d through August 9th, including closing the following streets: Park Avenue closed
from Lafayette Street to Franklin Street on August 3`d at 7:00 a.m. through August 8th at 2:00
p.m.; 4th Street from Mulberry Street to Franklin Street (Franklin not closed) on August 4th from
7:00 a.m. through August 7th; 4th Street from Mulberry Street to Lafayette Street on August 4th at
7:00 a.m. through August 7th; and Mulberry Street from 3`d Street to 5th Street on August 4th at
7:00 a.m. through August 71h
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association to hold the
10th Annual Iowa Irish Fest on August 5 through August 7, 2016 at Lincoln Park, to include the
set up and tear down on August 3rd through August 9th, including closing the following streets:
Park Avenue closed from Lafayette Street to Franklin Street on August 3rd at 7:00 a.m. through
August 8th at 2:00 p.m.; 4th Street from Mulberry Street to Franklin Street (Franklin not closed)
on August 4th from 7:00 a.m. through August 7th; 4th Street from Mulberry Street to Lafayette
Street on August 4th at 7:00 a.m. through August 7th; and Mulberry Street from 3rd Street to 5th
Street on August 4th at 7:OO,a.m. through August 7th, be and the same is hereby approved.
