RESOLUTION NO. 2024-408
RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO LIFT THE
TRUCK EMBARGO IN THE 700-1500 BLOCKS OF RAINBOW
DRIVE, (GREENHILL ROAD TO 300 ANSBOROUGH
AVENUE), FOR THE DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION, FOR
THE FY 2024 RAINBOW DRIVE RAILROAD CROSSING
REPAIR PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 1108.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa Traffic Code Section 582, Truck Traffic Prohibited
on Certain Streets; Section (51) Rainbow Drive places an embargo on truck traffic on Maynard
Avenue to the westerly city limits, and
WHEREAS, Boulder Contracting has requested a temporary variance, to lift the truck
embargo in the 700-1500 blocks of Rainbow Drive (Greenhill Road to 300 Ansborough Avenue),
for the duration of construction for the FY 2024 Rainbow Drive Railroad Crossing Repair Project,
Contract No. 1108.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that a variance to Section 582, of Ordinance No. 4490, as amended, Traffic
Ordinance, to lift the truck embargo in the 700-1500 blocks of Rainbow Drive (Greenhill Road to
300 Ansborough Avenue), for the duration of construction for the FY 2024 Rainbow Drive Railroad
Crossing Repair Project, Contract No. 1108, be granted as requested.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of July 2024.
