RESOLUTION NO. 2024-410
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO TAYLOR
CONSTRUCTION, INC., OF NEW VIENNA, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $976,021.50, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2023 HAMMOND AVENUE
BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OVER SINK CREEK, CONTRACT
NO. 922, IOWA DOT CONTRACT NO. BROS-8155(759)--8J-
07, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Taylor Construction, Inc., of New Vienna, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $976,021.50, in conjunction with the FY 2023 Hammond Avenue Bridge
Replacement over Sink Creek, Contract No. 922, Iowa DOT Contract No. BROS-8155(759)--8J-
07, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Taylor Construction, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond, and certificate
of insurance, in conjunction with the FY 2023 Hammond Avenue Bridge Replacement over Sink
Creek, Contract No. 922, Iowa DOT Contract No. BROS-8155(759)--8J-07.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Taylor Construction, Inc., in the amount of $976,021.50, in conjunction
with the FY 2023 Hammond Avenue Bridge Replacement over Sink Creek, Contract No.
922, Iowa DOT Contract No. BROS-8155(759)--8J-07, is hereby awarded to Taylor
Construction, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance submitted by Taylor Construction,
Inc., in conjunction with FY 2023 Hammond Avenue Bridge Replacement over Sink Creek,
Contract No. 922, Iowa DOT Contract No. BROS-8155(759)--8J-07, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of July 2024.
